Zaezel
Mordakai's familiar, appears to be some sort of hybrid of bird and snake. Roughly the size of a small hawk, the beast is clearly of a higher intelligence than a mere animal. Quick in the air, and possessing some minor arcane abilities of his own, Zaezel is loyal to Mordakai and the two seem to have at least some level of telepathic communication. Although sinister looking, the creature is generally not a threat to others, unless he feels the need to defend himself or his Master. Zaezel's venom is a potent cocktail of several toxins, including Cardiotoxins and Dendrotoxins. The bite is highly painful, and causes muscle cramps, delirium, and paralysis. It can be fatal if an antidote is not given fairly soon after. Mordakai always keeps a few vials handy but that does not necessarily mean he will readily part with them. |

Gisela
While Mordakai owns quite a few hunting birds, this is the only one he chose to bring with him to the island. His prized Bateleur Eagle is a strong favorite. The Count raised her from the time she was quite young, and trained her himself. She tends to dispise anyone else who is not him, and barely tolerates some of his servants. Supposedly, his previous manservant quit when the bird bit off one of his fingers. She does not get along with his familiar, Zaezel and the two are generally kept seperate. Gisela has also been known to kill smaller hunting birds if she is left to her own devices and allowed to fly freely. |
Pallidus
A full 18 hands, the stallion is powerfully build and highly trained. From warhorse stock he is spirited and seems near fearless. He despises four legged canines and is not fond of most other horses. While he has a great deal of strength and endurance he is not exceptionally fast. This is Mordakai's favored mount however, and the horse most certainly makes a statement. He appears to be solid white at a glance but is in fact a very pale cream/ivory color. Mordakai purchased the horse as a yearling from a breeder for a substantial amount of gold. He worked with the animal quite a bit himself, as well as had him trained by two separate experts, to his specifics. While all of Mordakai's horses are well treated, this one is placed on a bit of a pedestal and he is somewhat obsessive about his care. While not outright dangerous to others, the proud steed tends to take some time to get used to new people, and is a bit aloof. He does not listen or respond well to anyone else on his back other than Mordakai, and is likely to throw a rider who tries to mount him if his master is not present. |
Zephyra
Tall sleek mare, she is exceptionally fast and stronger than she looks. She has a great deal of endurance as well, she simply isn't as impressive and flashy as his warhorse. This is the horse Mord chooses if he actually needs to get somewhere on horseback in a hurry. Unlike Pallidus, Zephyra is a friendly creature, although she also can be a bit fractious and nervous in unfamiliar situations. She was a more recent acquisition by Mordakai, having acquired her only a few months before his arrival at TGT. He accepted her as partial compensation for settling a debt owed to his House. Her parentage includes both champion jumping and racing lines. |

Mollis
This light draft horse is mellow and sweet natured. Generally not a saddle horse, Mordakai instead uses her to pull a light carriage, which she is well trained for. He sometimes allows one of his servants to ride her, if he is going riding and taking one with him, and that servant does not have their own horse. However he is strict with how the horse is treated, and does not allow her to be pushed and overworked. Mollis was his brother's carriage horse, and even if he and his brother did not see eye to eye, the horse has some sentimental value now that his brother is dead and gone. She is also an older horse, at seventeen years of age, and he does not want to risk injury to her. Mordakai was away from his family home when his brother obtained the horse, but the animal was treasured by his household, and has been in his care ever since he returned. |
